We’re not just part of your dinner.

We're part of your community. Check out some stories that might change your mind about what a chicken company can do to help.

Our People & Values

Our people and our values are our biggest assets. Period. That’s why we strive to provide our employees with an enjoyable atmosphere, a clear sense of individual direction and worth, as well as a feeling of accomplishment for a job well done. As for our values, we like to let them speak for themselves in every one of our products. But they’re also a fun read. Check them out below:

  • Our People are simply better; highly skilled, proud to work at Foster Farms, and value safety and quality above all.
  • Honesty means integrity, credibility, and accountability in how we interact with every employee, customer, and supplier as well as our communities.
  • Excellence is accomplished by hands-on management and strict attention to detail at every level.
  • Quality is simply better; it is what sustains our brand value and will not be compromised.
  • Service is our proactive commitment to partnership with our customers, consumers, and suppliers.

Food Donations & Giving

Here at Foster Farms, we want to be a good neighbor in our community so we give back as often as we can, and in many different ways. In 2020, our traditional holiday donations helped provide 120,000 Thanksgiving dinners to people in need across the West.  Responding to the sharp increase in the number of food insecure families arising from the COVID-19 pandemic, Foster Farms donated more than 1.5 million pounds of poultry products – close to three million servings – to food banks and hunger relief organizations in California, Washington, Oregon, Alabama and Louisiana, where our facilities are located.

For many years Foster Farms worked with Second Harvest Food Bank in California’s Central Valley, funding a special program called Food 4 Thought. Foster Farms contributions to Food 4 Thought  provided 4,500 students with more than 1.3 million pounds of groceries, supplementing federal and state nutritional assistance, while helping to make them better students and heroes with their families.

We’ve established scholarships for employee family members, and created endowments at local universities including: UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine, Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, California State University at Fresno, and California State University at Stanislaus.

Additionally, Foster Farms matches all employee donations made to disaster relief funding organizations as well as those made to our favorite local heroes, the United Way.

Presidential Turkeys

That’s right, the ones pardoned by the president at Thanksgiving. Foster Farms has supplied them not once but twice—in 2010 and in 2015. It’s a lot harder than it looks. But a lot of fun, too.

Raised in a cage-free environment that is protected from the elements, the Presidential Turkey flock is socialized daily to prepare for their roles as public figures. They even listen to the radio to become comfortable with different voices and sounds. Turkeys are also trained to sit calmly on a table for the White House presentation. Once pardoned, the Presidential Turkey and his alternate retire to a nearby farm. Max and Verda would be doubly proud that we twice raised the National Thanksgiving Turkey.
