Foster Farms partnered with the San Francisco 49ers to give student athletes from Northern California high schools an experience of a lifetime: the chance to compete under the lights at Levi’s Stadium.
Being a good neighbor is very important to us. That’s why we give back by supporting a wide variety of charitable, non-profit, educational and community projects.
For almost a decade Foster Farms has partnered with local food banks throughout California and the Pacific Northwest to help families in need. In 2014 alone, Foster Farms donations helped local food banks feed more than 84,000 people. The Foster Farms Bowl, an annual event played at Levi’s Stadium is dedicated to raising awareness about hunger in America, and a portion of the proceeds from the event are donated to this cause.
Closer to home in the Central Valley of California Foster Farms has supported the incentive based Food 4 Thought program since 2010. Elementary school students in Stanislaus County voluntarily participate in eight additional hours of weekly after school programs focused on academics and extracurricular activities, and in return receive a 15 to 18 pound bag of groceries twice monthly. Working with the Second Harvest Food Bank, Foster Farms contributions to Food 4 Thought have provided 4,500 students with more than 1.3 million pounds of food, while helping to make them better students and heroes with their families.
Foster Farms offers annual scholarships to Merced Community College, Porterville Community College and Modesto Junior College. We also established scholarship endowments with area universities including: UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine, Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, California State University at Fresno, and California State University at Stanislaus.
Foster Farms matches employee donations to United Way and disaster relief. Foster Farms employees serve on numerous local Boards including the California Education Partnering Coalition, CSU, Stanislaus Alumni Association, Stanislaus County Partners in Education, Emmanuel Medical Center Foundation, and the Turlock Chamber of Commerce.
