Transportation Manager

Location: Livingston, CA | Shift: Day | Status: Exempt | Job ID: 35986

Essential Job Functions

    1. Direct and manage efficient routing, scheduling and transportation for all Foster Farms products shipped in and out of all Foster Farms California, Alabama and Louisiana facilities, to include the delivery of all finished good shipped throughout the United States. This includes securing backhauls for all Longline trucks, to ensure efficient use of resources. Negotiate contracts with equipment, material suppliers and backhauls
    2. Develop and establish administrative and operational procedures and guidelines for the Transportation department, to ensure all rules and regulations are met. Enforces compliance with administrative policies, procedures, safety rules and governmental regulations.
    3. Prepare and control the annual Transportation budget. Recommend capital expenditures for acquisition of new equipment to increase efficiency and services of department
    4. Train, evaluate and manage all Transportation staff members. Ensure Supervisors have skills needed to perform their jobs

Requirements

    1. Must have a B.A./B.S. degree, Master’s degree is a plus, or equivalent . 8-10 years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
    2. Must have demonstrated management skills
    3. Must have good communication skills, both orally and written
    4. Must have exceptional interpersonal skills
    5. Must have thorough understanding of customer relations
    6. Must have knowledge of equipment and areas to be serviced
    7. Must have knowledge of State and Federal laws governing the transportation industry
    8. Must be able to submit and pass criminal background check
