American Humane Association Certification

In 2013 we announced that Foster Farms® fresh chicken had been certified by the American Humane Association – one of the nation's leading animal welfare organizations that has been at the forefront in protecting farm animals since 1877.

For more than 135 years, the American Humane Association has been dedicated to the idea that all animals, including those raised on farms and ranches, are entitled to humane treatment. The American Humane® Certified program provides third-party, independent verification that certified producers' care and handling of farm animals meet the ethical, science-based standards established by the American Humane Association.

Looking to the Future

While we look back at our history with pride, we are focused on the future. The vision and passion for quality shared by Max and Verda Foster in 1939 remain the driving force behind everything we do today. Today, Max and Verda's grandson, Ron Foster, is the CEO of the company. Having worked with his grandfather for 23 years, he continues to passionately pursue his vision. This family-run business still feels like a family. We hope to continue to be a part of yours, as well.
